What to wear to...

Onsite visits......

Imagine this:

You are an engineer and you must visit customers in their premises...which means you have to go to a desalination plant/waste water treatment plant/any type of inside-outside combo plant that engineers usually visit....

At the same time you need to look professional, you want to look stylish and combine this with being fashionable (on a budget since you are still young and you are not rewarded for the amount of time you put in this business).

It all about wearing "the structured shirt"

Combined with simple black Zara legging/jeggins

And finishing the look with all stars since you have to keep your ballerinas for the office

The good thing is you can still wear a cute necklace and earring but i will save that for another post.

Happy Moments

Life's little happy moments are what we are waking up for everyday...

Here's what i recorded as happy in my life the last few weeks.

I get to enjoy lots and lots of sunshine every morning while i drive to work.

Then I saw the new Zara Home window....oh my goofness! I mean....my nephews and niece really really need those little furniture!

Take a closer look!

I had kebab with my mom and i noticed the most jealous-worthy floor...

(yeah, thats my new MANGO ballerinas)

Royal blue eyeliner will always make me smile

I've sewed some studs on my all stars just because i thought i should :p

When life gives you lemons.....

...make a....

I find it such a blessing if you can grown things in your yard...especially if you can grow fruits and vegetables!

But as a person involved in the chemical quality of waters and soil i can tell you one thing....

Not everyone is that blessed!

Anyhoooo.....

It seems that this year everyone had plenty of citrus fruit or at least enough to give to others as well....People would give away lemons even in church this Sunday!

So.....my mom who is one of the best women i know....and who is always at the top of things...made lemonade!

It's not enough that she made some great lemonade, she used this bottle i love love love just to make me smile!!!!

By the way........this phrase was playing in my mind 2 days now so i googled it and found this poem in wiki "Eight years before Carnegie's book brought the phrase back into the mainstream, a poetic rendition of the phrase entitled The Optimist appeared in a 1940 edition of The Rotarian:

Jewellery & Packaging

We've celebrated a few birthdays and going away's in this part of the world...

So...what better excuse to show your love and give a gift...or two :)

Here are the tools:

-Really......really cute carton piece....for example....glittery ones!!!!

-Paper cutter

-Punch hole

-Scizors your sis brought from Budapest or cool lifetime guarantee scizors from the pharmacy

-Tweezers

-Jewellery tools

As i mentioned in a previous post, i made a cute necklace for my little sis but i needed a cute packaging for two reasons:

1. Because its cute and sweet

2. Because i didnt want to ruin it.

My other little sis asked me to make this ear ring for a friend who was going away 

(since my sis had it and her friend liked it). 

Finally, i made a gold one for my sis because she only had a  silver one!!!

Tip: when using super glue make sure you use a piece of wood to protect the table you are working on :)

Happy Moments

DIY - Harness bracelet

 This is one of the easiest jeweleries  i've ever made!

I saw a similar bracelet on another blog and wanted to make one for some of my sisters and for my self.

 What you actually need to do is pretty simple and it;s just 3 steps!

1. You create this first piece by measuring your wrist.

2. You put the second piece in the middle of the wrist bracelet

3. The third piece needs to be able to come in and out of your finger easily.

Then you just attach everything using small rings.

The trick is you need to be careful with the length of the second part cause your hand needs to be able to move BUT you dont need it too long cause it will fall on the side of your hand all the time.

What to wear to....

Your collegue's child's Christening.

1. Every event needs a cute card to give them your well wishes....I like to add a sweet touch so i used the heart punch

2. It was midday so i kept things casual with this cute top from Massimo Dutti and a gold long necklace....i consider it a bit rock!

3. I wore these slippers from Zara

4. My older sister lent me this clutch....the photo doesn't do it justice though

5. The party's theme was mickey  mouse!

I wore the classic Zara black leggings to keep things a bit on the rock side...

Lazy Sunday

This Sunday has been (sort of) a lazy one!

I had an obligation later on which didn't allow me to go to church....

Anohooo....This gave me the time to recollect the things that happened in my life this week.

Here are the highlights:

1.  I visited my godparents and got to experience this view from their farm

2. I enjoyed a cup of tea with my mom by the fireplace

 3. I made this necklace for my kid sister...i promised it for her birthday which was a few weeks ago...

4. I went to a nice event about the Holocaust

5.  I stumbled on these cute bottles during a grocery store visit with my sis...At the first glance i thought it was beer but i got a little closer cause i loved the bottle so i happily discovered it was a fruit drink

 

6. My nephews always look for sweets when they come up the attic....i don't want to leave them complained!!!

Jiggling around town

 I've noticed that this year Christmas has been a numb period....

However, i do find it useful to always chase the fun bits in every season.

There will always be some kind of recession but we cant waste our lives waiting for better days.....

The best days are the ones we live right this moment.

My eyes caught a bit of this....

Forget everything else and keep the whimsy part, the lovey part and the sweetness of loved ones around the fireplace. 

Jesus came in a stable and animals kept him warm...no central heating, nothing extravagant.....and that's was He expects from us....just us!

Sleepover party/Lounging around

Now the fall is finally here it;s time for some sleepovers/lounging around the house.

Lounging around is all about being comfortable....

In my list its all about loose tops, cute leggings, silly tops to compliment the main thingy, soft socks and cool accessories.

The T-shirt project

First of all let me get this straight...........i have no idea how to sew....anything....at all!

This doesn't mean i can't cut....right?Right!

Well....this summer i bought this cute polka dot t-shirt from zara that had a veeeeery low cut at the back....

i loved  it so i bought it but when i got home, i realised it was semi transparent. Somebody else may not even had noticed this but i always look at the details....so...i was determined i would find a way that would not hide the beautiful back of the t-shirt but that would remove this semi-transparency thingy.

The issue was resolved in 4 easy steps.

First of all i had to look  in my closet for a t-shirt i did not mind altering - Done - With a nude tank top i've had for ages. I loved it (hence the ownership of 3 different colors) but it was old and i always used it to compliment another top.

Then I used this yellow chalk my youngest sister has to draw the part that had to be cut.

Then i used pins to secure the two tops together.

Drum roll please....

......

Mission accomplished!

It was so easy that i've since then repeated this procedure on the black one as well. I bought this cute see-through cardigan from Zara with a really beautiful cut at the back, in the shape of a cry, and i couldn't waste it by wearing a normal t-shirt inside.

Bottom line? Easy peasy.......if i could do it...anyone can!

You are driving me nuts........with your spices

Some people have the strength and courage to go on pension and suddenly leave their town house and go build a house on the countryside....

I don't think i'll  ever be like that unless there's internet and everything in the "civilization pack"....hahaha....

I do admire "those" people though for their courage and willingness to get out of their comfort zone!

Their reward for this? Growing their own vegetable, fruits, nuts and spices and enjoying living in the countryside! Not bad ha?

Well, my mom's brother and his wife are of "those" people. 

The other day my parents had visited them and they came home with these babies.

Pistachios are my favorite nuts...i like them salted and i like them in sweets!

I am not very familiar with the spice pictured above but it look soooo good i couldn't ignore it. My mom has put it on a napkin with sea salt flakes waiting for it to dry.

I'm curious how these nuts and spices are going to look like when they are ready to be used....

Obsessed

Lately I'm sooo obsessed with these babies.

A few weeks ago i just walked to Accesorize and bumped into these cuties.....The cupcake and hamburger are wire winders and the pink heart is used to plug 2 headphones in one port....
