I live in the last divided capital

The other day we went for a walk on "the other side"...

I enjoyed all the different images and cultures all within a few minutes of walking distance...Take a look!

We went to this place called "Hani tou Pantziarou" which used to be an Inn where travelers could stay for the night and they could leave their horses in the courtyard to eat, drink water and get some rest. The image below is from outside the rooms.

We also wen to Agia Sofia, it used to be a temple but now they've turned it into a mosque. It really is a pity because it's a great building to ruin it. But i found interesting the place people wash  their feet before they go in. Notice the tap and marble?

On our way back i noticed this cart.  Somebody must have been selling this fruit. I don't know the name in English but if you eat it after 2 - 3 hours in the fridge it's soooo refreshing and tasty!!!

Oh the spices!

We sat in the courtyard of the Inn and ate lahmatzun, pourekia and kattimeri. I am not sure about their origin but i think they are originally from Armenia but we also make them. 

Lahmatzun is made of minced meat. Pourekkia are made of minced meat or hallumi cheese if you prefer them salty or of cream or anari if you prefer them sweet.

Kattimeri (the one on the right side) is sweet with cinamon and honey.

Today my sister and I had a few minutes to kill waiting for something but were too tired to walk.

We decided to head to IKEA for a refreshing drink but ended up sharing this cheesecake.....

Long time no see!

Well hello there!

It's been a while since i was last here so i thought i'd just share a few of the things that have made me happy lately:

• Enjoying the sunset with loved ones
• Relaxing by the pool
• Seeing the beauty in driving to work on a fogy morning
• Going to the Starbucks for a delicious frapuccino
• Seeing all these tropical fruits
• Going to a beach party that was surprisingly accompanied by other peoples fireworks!!!

Jewellery

Lets talk jewellery for a minute.

I like unique, tiny pieces that compliment my style.

Here are the things you will usually see me wearing:

1. Pearl earrings I made using some pearls our parents gave us* recently.

2. Ring by an artist called Kalliroi - her workshop is located in the old town - Love it!

3. Just to give you an idea about sizes.

4. I made this ring to resemble a pricey one I can't afford. It's nowhere close to it (a Tiffany & Co ring) but it's satisfactory for me :)

5. 2 of my sisters and me bought this from Kalliroi and we have our name engraved.

Junkie

Today I'm introducing a new column called Junkie!
Junkie is about all the little taste mishaps that are necessary to be sane.
So....I usually work long hours and by the time i'm home evem the last bird is back to its nest.
However, something unusual happened on Wednesday.
I came home super early and had the chance to just be by my self and treat me the way i liked.

Fashionably late

Today I'm introducing a new column called fashionably late.
This is the column that will document all my current obsessions.

For the last 3 months I'm obsessed with this pair of sandals from Zara

I just love the feeling of rock n' roll combined with a relaxed flat shoe!
And this combination is explosive in this color.....i just love natural tones with a pop of red nail polish as it is my signature :)

Weekends

Another weekend just passed with a bit of everything:
1. Getting rid of a terrible cold that's been bugging me the last week
2. Going to the mall for bits and pieces with my mom
3. my favorite part (even though really tiring!) picking up my nephews for a night...yayyy!!!
4. Got to go to the church today cause without God we are nothing......you cant be lifeless and stylish...
5. getting ready for a good night's sleep so i can be ready for the new week tomorrow.

Koullouri with halloumi cheese

Just had one of these (called koulouri in greek) for breakfast with halloumi cheese and freshly squeezed orange juice...gotta love the days off work :)
